My Training
Being a relative newbie into the endurance racing world, it is especially important to have the right training tools to help me succeed. I’m not just in this to finish, I’m in this to make a statement.
Based on a recommendation from Sarah Stanley, I chose Jeff Klein to be my coach. He will focus on tailoring plans to my needs as well as nutrition (which was always my worst point).

Cycling
Running
Many of my marathon running friends recommend Hal Higdon’s training program, which is free online. Other friends have used the Runners World website for their input.
Swimming
I was already a decent runner/cyclist/swimmer, but I definitely recommend taking some time to perfect your swimming stroke. Luckily before I met my wife I dated a USA Swimmer who took my flailing arms and taught me how to swim the right way. I’d venture to say that 75% and above of lifeguards used to swim competitively in their day, so ask them for a tip or two if you need it.
